چکیده

The objective of this experiment was to assess the effects chaya (Cnidoscolus aconitifolius) leaf and rambutan (Nephelium lappaceum L.) fruit peel pellet (CRP) supplementation on rumen fermentation, feed intake, nutrient digestibility, nitrogen balance in crossbred beef cattle. Four cattle bulls (Brahman 75% × Thai native 25%), with 250 ± 15 kg liveweight at 18 months old, were randomly selected receive four dietary treatment groups: no (control) CRP 2, 4 6% dry matter intake (DMI) by using a Latin square design. fed concentrate 2 kg/day, rice straw offered ad libitum. results showed that pH h average post-feeding values normal range, though they slightly reduced DMI (p < 0.05). Rumen temperature, ammonia level, total volatile fatty acid (VFA), acetate (C2), butyrate (C4) production similar among treatments. Nevertheless, propionate (C3) concentration significantly increased 0.05) groups 4% DMI. In addition, C2/C3 ratio CH4 groups, especially Rice terms %BW higher apparent digestibilities not affected Nitrogen absorption, retention enhanced Moreover, feces excretion different treatments > Ultimately, improved C3 concentration, ratio, mitigated methane production, utilization efficiency. Therefore, shows promise as enhancer.

Effect of DL-malic acid supplementation on feed intake, methane emission, and rumen fermentation in beef cattle.

The objective of this study was to determine the effect of dietary concentration of dl-malic acid (MA) on DMI, CH(4) emission, and rumen fermentation in beef cattle. Two Latin square experiments were conducted. In Exp. 1, six beef heifers (19 +/- 1 mo old) were assigned in a duplicated Latin square to 1 of 3 dietary concentrations of MA on a DMI basis (0%, MA-0; 3.75%, MA-3.75; or 7.5%, MA-7.5)...

In vitro Screening of Essential Oil Active Compounds for Manipulation of Rumen Fermentation and Methane Mitigation

The objective of this study was to investigate the effects of 11 active compounds of essential oils (ACEO) on rumen fermentation characteristics and methane production. Two trials were conducted. In trial 1, ACEO (eugenol, carvacrol, citral, limonene, 1,4-cineole, p-cymene, linalool, bornyl acetate, α-pinene, and β-pinene) at a dose of 1,000 μL/L were incubated for 24 h in diluted rumen fluid w...

Methane emissions, body composition, and rumen fermentation traits of beef heifers differing in residual feed intake.

This study examined the relationship of residual feed intake (RFI) and performance with methane emissions, rumen fermentation, and digestion in beef heifers. Individual DMI and growth performance were measured for 22 Simmental heifers (mean initial BW 449 kg, SD = 46.2 kg) offered grass silage ad libitum for 120 d. Ultrasonically scanned muscle and fat depth, BCS, muscularity score, skeletal me...

Rumen fermentation and liveweight gain in beef cattle treated with monensin and grazing lush forage.

OBJECTIVE To determine the prevalence of subacute rumen acidosis (SARA) in beef cattle grazing lush pasture and the effect of monensin on reducing SARA and improving animal performance. DESIGN Commercial Angus and Murray Grey steers received a monensin slow-release capsule (n = 19) or remained untreated (n = 19). Cattle grazed an oats crop or tetraploid ryegrass pasture for a total of 91 days...

Methane Inhibition Alters the Microbial Community, Hydrogen Flow, and Fermentation Response in the Rumen of Cattle

Management of metabolic hydrogen ([H]) in the rumen has been identified as an important consideration when reducing ruminant CH4 emissions. However, little is known about hydrogen flux and microbial rumen population responses to CH4 inhibition when animals are fed with slowly degradable diets. The effects of the anti-methanogenic compound, chloroform, on rumen fermentation, microbial ecology, a...
